Craig Steinke

Advisory Council

Craig is an Advisory Council member at Sterling.  Craig has been working with Sterling and its portfolio companies since 2008.  He currently serves as Chief Executive Officer of Service Logic and as a member of its Board of Directors.  He previously served on the Board of Directors of Power Stop.  Prior to that, Craig worked closely with Lazer Spot's senior management and as a member of the company’s Board of Directors to set strategy and operating tactics throughout Sterling's ownership of the business.  He also served as Chief Executive Officer of GPX International Tire.

Craig assists Sterling in first-round diligence on numerous investment opportunities.  He also works with the management teams of Sterling portfolio companies on an as needed basis to provide resources and guidance on specific projects.

Prior Experience

Previously, Craig was Chief Executive Officer of Eagle Family Foods, a private equity owned manufacturer and distributor of grocery products under the Borden brand name.   Prior to that, Craig joined BHP Billiton as a Senior Vice President and Group General Manager of the world's largest copper mining company.  Craig was also President of Magma Metals, a billion dollar subsidiary of Magma Copper, a publicly traded international smelting and copper producer.  

Craig is a director of Builders FirstSource, a $6 billion publicly traded company on NASDAQ.  He is on the audit committee and chairs the nomination committee. Craig is a CPA with 10 years of experience at Arthur Andersen & Co.
