Bill Sanford joined Sterling as an operating partner in January of 2009. Since joining Sterling, Bill has assisted in the acquisition of FCX Performance, where he is a director and an advisor in the acquisitions and business development areas. Bill also serves as interim chief administrative officer at Fairway Market, where he is responsible for finance, human resources and information systems. Bill has been affiliated with Sterling since 2000 when Sterling backed Bill and his partners in the buyout of Wilmar Industries, Inc., now known as Interline Brands, Inc. (NYSE:IBI), where Bill served as chief financial officer, president and chief operating officer over a ten year period.

Bill has over twenty-five years experience in the wholesale distribution field, having held senior positions with Airgas (NYSE:ARG), MSC Industrial Direct (NYSE:MSM) and Interline Brands. A specialist in industry consolidation strategies, Bill has been involved in more than 50 acquisitions of independent distribution businesses, completed two go-private transactions and two public offerings during his career.

Bill is a director of FCX Performance, EverBank Financial and Western International Gas.
