RESPONSIBILITIES
Charles W. Santoro is a managing partner and cofounder of Sterling Investment Partners, L.P. and Sterling Investment Partners II, L.P. He is involved in all aspects of the firm's investment activities, including sourcing opportunities, negotiating and structuring transactions, and working with management teams after Sterling's initial investment. Charles serves as chairman of Fairway Market, member of the board of directors of GPX International Tire Company, FCX Performance, Inc., Interline Brands, Inc. (NYSE: IBI), and formerly was on the boards of Washington Inventory Service, CRA, Inc. and USM.

EXPERIENCE
Prior to cofounding Sterling, Charles was vice chairman, Investment Banking at Paine Webber, Inc. Previously, Charles was managing director and head of the Industrial, Multi-industry and New Business investment activities at Salomon Smith Barney. Prior to that, he was responsible for the firm's cross-border investment banking activities in New York and London, where he was a member of the International Board of Directors. Charles began his career at Morgan Stanley in New York and London and was the operations officer of the European Mergers & Acquisitions Department.

Charles has a B.A. from Columbia University. He is member of Columbia’s Board of Visitors, the Economic Advisory Council, the Manhattanville Ad Hoc Planning Committee, and the Athletics Campaign Leadership Committee.  In 2007, Mr. Santoro was the recipient of Columbia’s John Jay Award for distinguished professional achievement. He also serves on the board of the Marine Corps – Law Enforcement Foundation.
