RESPONSIBILITIES
Douglas L. Newhouse is a managing partner of Sterling Investment Partners. He was a cofounder of Sterling's predecessor in 1991, and is involved in all aspects of the firm's investment activities, including sourcing opportunities, negotiating and structuring transactions, and working with management teams after Sterling's initial investment. Doug serves on the board of directors of GPX International Tire Corporation, Miller Heiman and FCX Performance, Inc.
Doug is a past board member of Aavid Thermal Technologies, Inc., and American Buildings Company (formerly public companies), The Kenan Advantage Group, Inc., Washington Inventory Service and The CBORD Group, Inc.
EXPERIENCE
Prior to cofounding Sterling, Doug was a senior vice president of the Corporate Finance Department of Lehman Brothers. Prior to that he was VP of the Matuschka Group based in Munich, West Germany. Doug began his career on Wall Street as an oil service industry research analyst at Mitchell Hutchins, Inc.
PERSONAL
Doug chairs the Investment Committee for the Board of Directors at Greens Farm Academy in Westport, Connecticut, and is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Pequot Library in Southport, Connecticut. Doug also serves on the board of the Undergraduate Business Advisory Council at Cornell University.
