RESPONSIBILITIES
M. William Macey, Jr. (Bill) is a managing partner of Sterling Investment Partners. He was a cofounder of Sterling's predecessor in 1991 and is involved in all aspects of the firm's investment activities, including sourcing opportunities, negotiating and structuring transactions, and working with management teams after Sterling's initial investment. Bill serves on the board of directors of GPX International Tire Corporation and FCX Performance, Inc.

Bill is a past board member of Aavid Thermal Technologies, Inc. (formerly a public company), The Kenan Advantage Group, Inc and The CBORD Group, Inc.

EXPERIENCE
Prior to cofounding Sterling, Bill was a managing director in the Mergers & Acquisitions Group of Smith Barney, Harris Upham & Co. Inc. and was a managing director of Asian Oceanic Group, a merchant bank headquartered in Hong Kong focused on cross-border transactions between the U.S. and Asia. Upon graduation from law school, Bill practiced corporate law at Cravath, Swaine & Moore in New York City.

PERSONAL
Bill is a director of Norwalk Grass Roots Tennis, a nonprofit organization that provides after school programs to children of Norwalk, Connecticut's housing projects and their neighborhoods. Bill also coaches youth basketball at Wakeman Boys and Girls Club in Southport, Connecticut.
