Michael A. Barr is a Principal at Sterling and is involved in all aspects of the firm's investment activities, including sourcing opportunities, negotiating and structuring transactions, and working with management teams after Sterling's initial investment. Previously, Mike was an Associate in Corporate Finance at Lehman Brothers and a Senior Auditor at Arthur Andersen. He also held the position of Vice President, Finance at Wellsteads Inc. Mike has a CPA, a B.A. from Claremont McKenna College and an MBA from The Wharton School of Business. Mike serves on the Board of Directors of Fairway Market and FCX Performance, Inc., Sterling portfolio companies.

William P. Russell, Jr. is a Principal at Sterling. His primary responsibilities include analyzing investment opportunities, executing transactions and working with management teams to identify and realize strategic opportunities. Previously, Bill was a Vice President at Lehman Brothers where he successively worked in both the Financial Sponsors and Global Mergers & Acquisitions groups. Prior to Lehman, he worked at Deloitte Consulting. Bill has a B.A. from Hamilton College, an MBA from Harvard Business School and was a Fulbright Scholar in Singapore. Bill serves on the Board of Directors of Cambridge International and Miller Heiman, Sterling portfolio companies, and is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Pequot Library in Southport, Connecticut.

Amy L. Weisman is a Vice President at Sterling. Amy is involved with sourcing new investment opportunities, expanding the firm's network, and directing the marketing and communication programs for Sterling. Previously, she was a partner at Colt Capital Group, a private equity fund. Amy spent eight years as a senior executive in the investor relations industry. Prior to that, she was a Vice President in Equity Research at Drexel Burnham Lambert and a Corporate Finance Analyst at Smith Barney. Amy is a graduate of The University of Michigan Business School.

Joseph J. Gault is a Vice President at Sterling and is involved in all aspects of the firm’s investment activities, including analyzing and executing transactions and working with management teams to enhance each portfolio company’s franchise value. He was previously with Lehman Brothers as an Associate in The Office of the Chairman & CEO and as an Analyst in Corporate Finance. Joe has a B.A. from Dartmouth College. Joe serves on the Board of Directors of Cambridge International, a Sterling portfolio company.

James W. Soldano is a Vice President at Sterling. Prior to joining Sterling, James held positions at the President’s Council of Economic Advisers and in the Investment Banking division at Lehman Brothers. James received his MBA from The Wharton School of Business, where he was a Palmer Scholar, and his A.B. from Princeton University, where he graduated magna cum laude.
